The Vulture part 1

In September 1950, Lilliput magazine, published by Hulton Press, produced a parody of its recently launched sister paper, the Eagle. The digest-sized magazine was edited by Richard Bennett at the time and Bennett was quick off the mark to take a dig at the goody-two-shoes aspects of Eagle. The script was by Richard Osborne and the artwork by Arthur Horner, later the creator of Colonel Pewter.

More tomorrow, including a strip by John Ryan!

  1. How fascinating! This parody seems to be many years ahead of its time. I wonder how it was received.
