Further information on Alfred Walter Barrett. I've made no attempt to work this into the previous entry on Barrett as there is still a good deal of research needed to resolve some of the questions surrounding Barrett.

Barretts' on the move

Lived at Wallwood Road, Leytonstone until at least March 1895.

Lived in "Myrtle Villa" [poss. ex-Harold Villa], South Woodford from at least August 1895 until c. 1900 when he moved back to his parents' address.

Lodging next door at 28 were Bertha Barrett (25) and Nellie Goodsell (26)

Lived at 'Elbury', 63 Tunley Road, Balham, London S.W.17

Alfred lived here alone between 1914-19 when he was joined by his friend Louis Gunnis, who lived at the same address until 1923 before moving to his own house. Nellie and Leslie joined Alfred in 1920 and the three of them were listed as residents until the Autumn of 1923. Leslie had moved by Spring 1924 to live with his wife at 8 Balham Park Road.

Alfred disappeared from the 1932 volume, which listed Nellie as living there along with various boarders who had joined the household in the mid-1920s. Nellie eventually moved out around 1937 to go and live with her son, Leslie...
