Leonard Bruce Mayne was a minor contributor to juvenile literature, penning articles for the Daily Mail Boys Annual and for Meccano Magazine.
He was born in Neath, Wales, on 9 August 1926, the second son of Thomas Mayne (1898-1976) and his wife Annie Matilda (nee Lang, 1901-1969). Mayne married Myra Thomas (1923-2011) in 1945 and they had one child. He lived at 3 Ynes Street, Port Talbot, throughout the 1950s and 1960s and died there on 1 February 1968, aged only 41.
