The following is a chapter from A Close Look at Magazines & Comics (1966) by E. W. Hildick in which the former teacher looks briefly at the history of comics. It is basic and intended to promote discussion and activities in class but at the same time is an interesting summation of how a children's writer and former teacher viewed comics in the mid-Sixties.
