Westward Ho! part 1
Based on the novel by Charles Kingsley with artwork by Bill Baker. I'll leave the book to speak for itself over the next couple of weeks – all I'll say here is that it's the only novel ever to inspire the founding of a Devon village (the only town in the UK to contain an exclamation mark in its name)
Kingsley you'll probably know better as the author of The Water Babies, Hereward the Wake or perhaps The Heroes, based on Greek myths but Westward Ho! was the novel chosen in 1925 by the BBC as the first to ever be adapted onto the wireless.
