Dodgem Logic was often described as Alan Moore's fanzine, but might have been better described as a magazine filled mostly by people who knew Alan. For a fanzine it was actually quite a well-paying market, with Moore in the background financing the publication. Unfortunately, I think it became a bit of drain on him due to high costs and low sales. You can't argue that it was a good-looking magazine and a brave experiment; at the same time it lacked direction and was too off-the-wall to develop a regular readership. Sometimes you need a Constable landscape amongst the Dali and Bosche weirdness to give people a breather. I suspect that's why I—odd but ploddingly so—was asked to write a couple of pieces. It was fun while it lasted.
