Fergus Cannan

Fergus Cannan wrote three issues of Commando back in 2004-05 but is primarily a writer of non-fiction about Scottish history. I've taken the following information from his author bio page on Amazon.
Fergus Cannan is a historian whose publications include Scottish Arms and Armour (2009) [trailer], Galloglass 1250-1600: Gaelic Mercenary Warrior (2010), and, as co-author, Object of Devotion: Medieval English Alabaster Sculpture from the Victoria and Albert Museum (2010).
The great-great-great-great-grandson of a Gaelic Highland poet and a descendant of Fergus, king of Galloway (d. 1161), much of his early education came from hearing stories told to him by relatives about the exploits of his ancestors. Since then he has devoted his life to history and bringing the past to life. After university he worked at museums including the Victoria and Albert Museum before becoming Associate Curator of Object of Devotion, an exhibition of the V&A's medieval English alabaster sculpture which has toured museums in the United States for the last three years.
The author of numerous articles and three titles in the popular Commando comic book series, he presented the feature about battles of the Scottish War of Independence for the Blu-ray DVD release of Braveheart, taught medieval history and English literature with the Workers' Educational Association, and was for a time responsible for local studies material at Guildford Library. An avid outdoorsman and countryman, he is also an illustrator and armourer. He is currently writing a script and making armour and props for a film set in 16th-century Scotland.
His full name is Fergus Gilbert Pullein Cannan, BA, AKC, or Fergus Cannan-Braniff, as he is also referred to. Born Fergus Gilbert Cannan Harris in 1978, he was the son of Henry Gilbert Harris and his wife, teacher and historian Crescy Cannan, grandson of a playwright and a direct descendant of Robert the Bruce. He earned his BA (Hons) in History at King's College, London, and did his MA dissertation at Bristol University on "Funerary monuments and the noble world-view in later Medieval England", published in 2002.
