New Zealand-born artist Harry Rountree (1878-1950) was a hugely popular cartoonist who contributed to Punch, Radio Times, The Tatler and many other magazines. And, so I discovered today, The Children's Newspaper. 'The Rescue' appeared in the 28 January 1939 issue.
