George Lane

Apart from the following list of books he illustrated, I know nothing about George Lane except he produced illustrations for Swift Annuals 1 and 2 (1954-55).

    I am wondering if this is the same George Lane who lived in Kensington (Earls Court to be exact) during the war, was married to Bris and had a daughter who would be about 70ish now. If it is I knew them quite well when I was a boy. Perhaps you could advise me. Kindest regards

    I don't have any information on Lane beyond what I've written (which isn't much). If the person you knew was an artist or illustrator, there's a chance it could be the same person. Otherwise I have no way of knowing.

    George Lane worked for "The Motor" magazine in the UK for a considerable time. I can send you some pictures if you'd like me to.

  5. Hi, Jenny lane is my cousin, she is 80 this year, George Lane was her father, and Bris his wife was my Godmother .She has several of his works still .
