12 November. Alan Moore is writing lyrics for an opera by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett, the follow-up to their popular Monkey: Journey to the West. Albarn and Hewlett will be contributing to Moore's Dodgem Logic.
4 November. Warren Ellis has had a second comic series optioned by Hollywood. Ellis's series Black Summer, published by Avatar Press in 2007, has been picked up by Vigilante Entertainment with scriptwriter Ryne Pearson attached. Summit Entertainment are already working on an adaptation of his series Red. Meanwhile, Mark Millar has announced (without too many details) that he is to direct a superhero movie next year,
3 November. Ctrl.Alt.Shift Unmasks Corruption is an upcoming anthology with contributions from Pat Mills, Bryan Talbot, Dave McKean and others, edited by Paul Gravett.
28 October. The 1993 Dark Horse comic Ring of Roses, drawn by British artist Jon Watkiss, has been optioned by Spice Factory and Persistent Entertainment for a movie.
26 October. Phill Jupitus is rapidly turning into the ambassador for old British comics.
26 October. Lew Stringer takes a look at the 30th Anniversary issue of Viz. The Cartoon Museum is mounting an exhibition in celebration, running from 4 November to 24 January.
22 October. Interview: Jon Haward talks about his love of Frank Bellamy's artwork and finds he has a fan of his own in the shape of Sir Derek Jacobi.
19 October. Good news for fans of The DFC... David Fickling Books will be publishing a series of collections in Spring 2010 gathering together some of the best of the magazine, starting with "Mezolith" in March, "Good Dog, Bad Dog" in April and "The Spider Moon" in May. Hopefully there will be more to follow.
